Maryland: Greenspring Station Farmers’ Market

Greenspring Station Farmers’ Market in Lutherville, Maryland, has announced that it is extending its season rather than closing Saturday, as originally planned.

Starting December 5th, the market will be held 1-3 p.m. the first and third Saturday of each month through May in the common area of Green Spring Statons near Tark’s Grill.

Connecticut: Storrs Farmers Market

The Storrs Farmers Market will reopen for its second winter market in Mansfield Center from 3 to 5 p.m. this Saturday, November 21.

The winter market will be located indoors to the Buchanan Auditorium at the Mansfield Public Library, on Route 89 off of Route 195 in Mansfield Center, Connecticut.

Storrs Farmers Market opened the first winter market in northeastern Connecticut in 2008. It was successful and has been expanded to twice a month this year.

The Winter Market will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from December through April. In December, the Winter Market will also be open on the third Saturday, due to the Christmas holiday.

New York: Village of Hamilton Farmer’s Market

The introduction of EBT/Credit Card machines as payment options was a success at the Village of Hamilton Farmer’s Market, according to a report in the Madison County Courier.

The Hamilton, New York, market took in $10,000 with the machine — $3,000 EBT and $7,000 in credit card sales.

Thirty-two vendors participated in the 34th season of the Saturday market.

Indiana: Historic West Main Street Farmers Market

The Historic West Main Street Farmers Market debuts its Indoor Winter Farm Market this Saturday, November 21 from 9am to 12:30pm.

Located inside Paula’s Seafood at 1732 West Main Street in Fort Wayne, the indoor season promises to offer fresh fruit and produce, citrus, cider, baked goods, pies, breads, jams, candies, Indiana produced food items, coffee, tea, soups, fresh fish, shellfish and fine artwork.

The indoor farmers market, owned and operated by the Nebraska Neighborhood Association, will be held every Saturday through March.

Florida: City of Marco Island Farmers Market

The City of Marco Island Farmers Market opens its second season Wednesday Nov. 25, in a new location at Veterans Community Park, which has moregreen space than the previous Mackle Park location and more parking.

The public market will be open every Wednesday through April 14 from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

This year, the city has provided room for 76 vendors spaces. Last year, 40 vendors was the maximum.

Organizers plan a live band on opening day, performing from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

North Carolina: Davidson Farmer’s Market

Although the regular season of the Davidson Farmer’s Market is over, the market will return on Saturdays Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec. 19 for a series of holiday markets. Hours for the holiday markets are 9am to noon in the the market’s regular location next to Town Hall.

A Winter Tailgate Market is planned for January 9 through April from 9-11am.

California: Willits Farmers Market

Willits Farmers Market held its first indoor market at the Little Lake Grange November 5, with vendors selling produce, pies, meats, flowers, breads, sweets, amd cheeses.

A commercial kitchen at the Grange is being renovated and will be available in January 2010.

Willits Farmers Market will continue indoors at its regular time: Thursdays from 3pm to 6 pm.

Minnesota: Farmers’ Market Flats

Pioneer Press reports:

The city of St. Paul and a builder are holding hands as plans for an indoor farmers market in Lowertown rise from the ashes.

Officials from St. Paul and Flannery Construction announced Thursday they’ve resurrected plans for Farmers’ Market Flats, a proposal to build an indoor, year-round farmers market, topped by residential units, at the southwest corner of Fifth and Wall streets, across Wall Street from the St. Paul Farmers’ Market.

North Carolina: Gastonia Farmers Market

The Gastonia Farmers Market will remain open for the 2009 season through the last Saturday of November.

The Farmers’ Market Christmas Craft Faire will be held the first two weekends of December. Baked goods and holiday music will be available.

Ontario: Orillia Farmers’ Market.

The City of Orillia City Hall on Andrew Street in Orillia, Ontario, now hosts the Saturday morning Orillia Farmers’ Market.

Moved from its location beside the Opera House in downtown Orillia, where it was held for 137 years, the Orillia Farmers’ Market is being held in the city building until the re-development of the market block, behind the Orillia Opera House and Orillia Public Library, is complete in about two years.

Market vendors will be setting up both inside and outside the city hall.
