According to the Daniel Island News, the South Carolina community’s “first” farmers market will open April 30 in the hope of stimulating the local economy.

South Carolina: New State Farmers Market Breaks Ground

Ground has been broken on a new State Farmers Market in South Carolina. The new market, located on 174-acre site is off U.S. 321 in Lexington County, should be finished by late spring 2010. Organic produce and seafood will be featured at the market, which will also have a restaurant serving South Carolina grown products.
